DEDICATED LEADERSHIP FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Let's face it, our District is under attack from outsiders who want more to disrupt the learning of our children than empower the future of it!
I'm Douglas Horton, and I'm running for the Lakota Board of Education. My wife, Julie, and I have had the blessing that our children, Lily 16 and Jack 12, have only attended Lakota schools. I have actively volunteered in the district every year since my daughter first entered Liberty Early Childhood School as a Kindergartener. For 10 years, I have served on the District Parent Council for Lakota.
Professionally, I am a brand-builder for Procter & Gamble. I lead P&G's Sports Marketing in the U.S. across nearly a dozen billion dollar brands like Tide, Gillette, Crest, Bounty, and Charmin partnering with organizations like the NFL, Major League Soccer, and the U.S Olympic Committee to drive profitable business growth.
Instead of perpetuating the conspiracy theories of the day, I pledge to leverage my dual Masters degrees in both Business and Public Policy to focus on crafting policy to help our district continue to thrive and provide the support and tools to our teachers and staff to help all of our students succeed.
Our district is large and complicated. My business experience in leading billion dollar businesses is well suited for handling the $190 million, 17,500 student Lakota Local Schools District in a responsible, financially conservative way that does not burden our taxpayers.
